Wison Offshore & Marine today announced the successful completion of the installation of two SPB LNG cargo tanks into the hull of the EXMAR FSRU (Floating Storage Regasification Unit), marking another significant milestone for the first China-made FSRU. In addition, the main decks above the cargo tanks have also been installed onboard. With this major activity now completed, the pathway is clear for the assembly and erection of the main hull.

Under the agreement with Exmar, Wison Offshore & Marine provides turnkey engineering, procurement and construction(”EPC”) services for the FSRU project. It is the first FSRU project ever EPC-contracted to a Chinese company, and the facility is to become the world’s first small-scale FSRU. This non-propelled FSRU barge is equipped with two regasification plants with standalone regasification capacity of 400MMSCFD and 200MMSCFD. Two SPB cargo tanks, each with a capacity of 12,500 m3, will be installed in the hull for LNG storage and an accommodation block suitable for 25 people will be also installed on the barge.
