Early top-out of the key column of ethylene plants of Fushun Petrochemical Corp. undertaken by Wison

Release time:2009-11-18

At 9:17 on the morning of Nov. 18, the fifth section of the highest propylene rectifier (C-1530A) of the 800kta ethylene plant newly built for Fushun Petrochemical Corp. by Wison Engineering, Ltd. was lifted up and erected in place successfully as scheduled. So far, the lifting and erecting work of the three most critical columns (two propylene rectifiers and one ethylene column) of 800kta ethylene plant for Fushun Petrochemical Corp. has been accomplished within only 81 days, and the completion time for top-out was advanced by 12 days compared with the schedule, which is emblematizing that the project of ethylene plant enters into a new period.

The 800kta ethylene plant newly built for Fushun Petrochemical Corp. is one of the key units of 1000kta ethylene project of Fushun Petrochemical Corp. Propylene rectifier (C-1530A/B) is the largest and highest none standard equipment in such 800kta ethylene plant, with diameter of 5.6m, height of 120.4m, and single net weight of more than 800t, together with ethylene column, constitutes the critical path of the ethylene plant, and is of critical control point of this 2009 project construction. To ensure the three columns are lifted and erected on schedule, Wison entered into contract with supplier in advance, and took overall factors including road transportation, construction site into consideration, carefully developed sectional lifting and erecting program for three columns. Among them, the propylene rectifier was performed by five sections and the ethylene column was performed by three sections. During such cycles as manufacturing, transportation, site lifting and erecting, labor protection, and pipe erecting to the columns, Wison planned in advance and implemented carefully, which successfully ensures smooth top-out of the ethylene column and propylene rectifier, so as to build a solid foundation for realizing intermediate handover of ethylene plant in Jun. 2011.
