(August 23, 2012, Shanghai) Wison Engineering Ltd. (Wison Engineering) announced today that the company won a contract from Pucheng Clean Energy Chemical Company Ltd. (PCEC) to provide EM+PC services for the construction of the utility unit and auxiliary facilities of a 700 kt/a coal to polyolefin project. Under the contract, Wison Engineering will provide engineering management, procurement, and construction services for nearly 40 sub-units, including cooling water system and pipe networks, a tank farm, flares, and a substation.

The ongoing 1.8 million t/a methanol and 700 kt/a coal to polyolefin projects are the first phase of 5.4 million t/a methanol and 2 million t/a Coal to Polyolefin projects invested by Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group, and is also key projects supported by Shaanxi Provincial Government under the 12th Five-Year Plan. The utility unit and auxiliary facilities are due to be delivered at the end of September 2013 given that it need to support the overall project operation. Therefore, the immense scale and tight schedule are the biggest challenge facing Wison Engineering during the project execution.

A project team has already been assigned on-site to carry out all the preparatory works. Through measures such as strengthening communication with the engineering design company and cross construction, the company will strive to achieve the fast, high-quality, and safe completion of the task.

In 2010, Wison Engineering provided PCEC with its patented MTO light olefin separation technology for the latter’s coal to polyolefin project phase I DMTO-II demo plant, followed by basic engineering design services for a 300 kt/a polyethylene plant, and EPC services for the polyethylene plant and PE/PP packaging warehouse, part of the 700 kt/a coal to polyolefin project.
