Wison Engineering’s First Digital Plant Design Project Wins Second Prize of Digitization Contest Organized by CPCESDA

Release time:2015-03-02

(March 2, 2015, Shanghai) Wison Engineering Services Co. Ltd. (“Wison Engineering” or the “Company”, SEHK stock code: 2236, together with its subsidiaries, the “Group”), the largest non-state-owned sector chemical engineering, procurement and construction management (“EPC”) service provider in China, announced that its non-wholly owned subsidiary, Wison Engineering Ltd. (“the  Company”)won the second prize of the Best Collaborative Design Project at the first “Innovation Cup——Digital Plant (DF) Contest” held by China Petroleum & Chemical Engineering Survey and Design Association (“CPCESDA” or the “Association”), thanks to the successful delivery of the Company’s first digital plant design for Xinjiang Styrene Project.

Xinjiang Styrene Digital Plant Project is the first project for Wison Engineering to carry out digital design, at which Wison undertook the basic design, detailed design and the plant site planning of the facility. Delivered in May 2014, the Project showcased the application of advanced visualized and digital technologies in plant design. By integrating the application of the SP series of software including Intergraph SPP&ID, SPRD, SP3D, SPI, SPF, the Company completed the digital designs for processing, piping, materials, instruments, structure, electricity, utilities as well as 3D modeling, finalizing all the relevant digital drawings for engineering and constructions, including P&ID drawing, plan layout, pipeline list, ISO drawings instrument index, specifications, etc. By delivery of the database-based 2D and 3D modeling, the company provided the client with a full set of engineering data for the commissioning, equipment maintenance, procurement, plant revamping and other operation management.

Meanwhile, during the project execution, the Company also established complete databases for materials, graphs, support and hanger etc. laying a solid foundation for promoting digital works in future projects.

Built on comprehensive data related to the total life cycle of products, digital plant is a new form of production organization which simulates, evaluates and optimizes the entire production process, and even the total product life cycle. Multi-professional collaborative design enables higher engineering efficiency and accuracy, more accurate materials procurement, more sophisticated and visualized construction, and the provision of construction data for the plant owner for the purposes of future maintenance and management. Therefore, the popularity and application of digital plant is becoming an inevitable trend in different business sectors. With Digital Plant being carried out among globally by leading engineering companies, it also becomes a vital indicator for overseas project owners in selecting contractors.
