Wison Scores Another Award for Its Contribution in Floating LNG

Release time:2018-03-01

(1st March 2018, Shanghai, China) Wison Offshore and Marine (“Wison”) won the award of “Most Exceptional Contribution to the Development of FLNG/FSRU” delivered at the 2nd Annual LNG USA Summit held in Houston, United States from 27th to 28th of February. The award was presented to Wison in recognition for achieving final delivery of Caribbean FLNG, world's first barge-based FLNG and the recently sailed-away Exmar FSRU in 2017. This is the second international award received by Wison for its outstanding contribution to floating LNG, further demonstrating wide recognition for the company’s value addition to the gas and LNG industry. Other award winners at the Summit include major players in LNG such as Shell, Gas Natural Fenosa, etc.

Shortly before the final delivery of Caribbean FLNG, gas trial and performance test for the barge were successfully completed at Wison yard in Nantong. For the first time in history, LNG was produced onboard a floating facility. By delivering the speech “Pushing the Envelope in Floating LNG”, Wison’s Floating LNG Solutions Director Mr. Martin Hruska was delighted to share the company’s unique experience from providing turnkey service for the project and how the first drop of LNG was produced on an FLNG. The presentation aroused strong repercussions among the industry audience by showcasing how innovative solutions facilitate monetization of gas assets and LNG value chain development by enabling cost-effective LNG production and logistics.

How cost-effective solutions contributes to optimizing project economics and facilitating LNG market development appeared as a heatedly discussed topic at the Summit which was attended by chief LNG experts from across the globe. Duane Bertrand, Vice President of Wison Offshore & Marine in the Americas, together with Martin Hruska sat down with senior experts from major players along the LNG value chain, including NextDecade, Mitsui O.S.K. Lines and Black&Veatch during the panel “FSRU/FLNG: Cost-effective Solutions”, discussing topics of common interests in floating LNG developments.
